There are no dangers associated with the Tdap vaccine in pregnancy. It’s also recommended by the Board of Nursing and midwives as well.

Why Tdap vaccine for pregnant women?

first of all Tdap stands for tetanus diphtheria and pertussis. these are three bacteria that cause serious illness. But the Tdap vaccine protects pregnant women protects the baby from whooping cough. this is a disease that can be deadly to babies. the reason it’s important to get it in pregnancy is because mom will create the antibodies that will pass to the baby while she’s pregnant.

Are there any dangers?

There are no dangers associated with the Tdap vaccine (Read more about Tdap vaccine from ncbi.nlm.nih.gov ) as a matter of fact it’s safe for Mom and safe for baby. and it doesn’t cause any pregnancy complications. of course if you’ve ever had an allergic reaction or any serious illness in response to a tetanus vaccine in the past, I’d recommend you discuss that with your Doctor. The CDC recommends that all pregnant women get it between 27 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.

Should pregnant women get Tdap vaccine?

it’s not for Mom it’s for baby so in each pregnancy mom needs it over time the antibody is actually decreased and that’s why moms need to get it with every pregnancy. so that she can protect her baby before they’re born. it’s also recommended by the Board of Nursing and midwives as well. So it’s something that I definitely recommend that is given to pregnant women and it’s very important that we take that to help protect our babies before they’re born until they’re able to build up their own immune system.

Flu vaccine

I want to recommend as well that pregnant women consider getting the flu vaccine that one is also important too.
