Yes. Nexplanon, a hormonal contraceptive implant, can potentially lead to weight changes in some individuals, but the effects vary from person to person. Weight gain is listed as a possible side effect of Nexplanon in its prescribing information. However, it’s important to note that not everyone who uses this will experience weight gain.
What is Nexplanon?
we are talking about Nexplanon or the arm implant birth control. Planting Nexplanon super quick and it doesn’t hurt. Doctors use numbing medicine in the area where They’re going to. They’ll clean off your arm, put some numbing medicine and then use the applicator to slide in all in. It takes a few seconds to actually place the actual Nexplanon.
How well does it work?
The first thing I think everybody wants to know is how well does it work? The good news is that it is the most effective form of birth control that we have, that is long acting and completely reversible. failure rate or how many times you’ll end up pregnant using this method is less than half of a percent. That is amazing. works really well. And there’s no way to screw it up, you don’t have to remember to take a pill or put on a new patch. There’s no chance that it can fall out like an IUD.
Fertility comes right back which means once you’ve got that implant removed out of your arm, fertility goes back to baseline. that’s my favorite kind of birth control protects you when you don’t want to get pregnant and then stops working and doesn’t get in the way once you’ve got it removed.
